Who doesn't like to laugh?

Today I want to tell you guys about three websites I go to for a laugh. I don't want to steal anyone's thunder so I'll make the commentary minimal.

Here goes:

Epicfail - I'm sure most of my readers [yes, all 5 of you =) ] know what a fail is. For those that don't, SHAME ON YOU. You must have been living under a rock. Click HERE if you have been living under a rock.

Anyways, a "Fail" is when you dissapoint or are unsuccessful at doing something. Fail is when Brittney Spears opens an award show out of shape, listess, and saying "It's Brittney Bitch". Fail is when Lebron James calls himself "King" then joins 2 superstars to chase a championship. Fail is when JamesJChae opens a blog expecting thousands of readers within the first month..... You get the point.

While Failblog.org might be more famous, I like epicfail better. One of the usuals in epicfail is their "sexyfail". Here you get to see men and women's fashion at their worse. The videos aren't so bad either.

Click HERE to laugh your head off at Epicfail.

Engrishfunny -
"Engrish refers to unusual English originating in East Asian countries. The term itself satirises the frequent habit of Japanese people to confuse the English phonemes "R" with "L".

While the term may refer to spoken English, it is more often used to describe written English. Engrish can be found in many places, including signs, menus, and advertisements. Terms such as Japlish or Janglish for Japan, Konglish for Korea, Singlish for Singapore, and Chinglish for China are sometimes used as well."

Many second generation Asians know what i'm talking about. What makes Engrishfunny so much more funny is the commentary. For example:

REAL ULTIMATE POWER - This one is old and i'm not sure if it is ever updated, but I still find myself coming here once in awhile. It is the self-proclaimed "Official Ninja webpage". Here is a description of ninjas from the site:

Hi, this site is all about ninjas, REAL NINJAS.  This site is awesome.    My name is Robert and I can't stop thinking about ninjas.  These guys are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet.

Facts:
1.    Ninjas are mammals.
2.    Ninjas fight ALL the time.

3.    The purpose of the ninja is to flip out and kill people.

You got to love the enthusiasm.

Clean Your Crap!!! and More!!!

Today I want to look at some software that have been a staple on my computer since the beginning of time. All of these goodies are free so you guys have no excuse NOT to try them out.

CCLEANER - Also known as "Crap Cleaner" is a free software for windows. For this price, you get tons of handy tools that should be part of everybodys routine in conducting maintenance on their computer.  Here is the Piriform, the publishers, description of CCleaner :

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner.

Here are a list of 5 of the best features of CCleaner from the CNET page and from their users:
Features:
  1. Cleans out temp files for all browsers on your computer.
  2. Cleans out temp data from software installations
  3. Scans and fixes registry errors
  4. Offers a faster way to view “add and remove programs” without having to use the slow working windows tool.
  5. Allows you to quickly edit the startup software without having to access msconfig
I recently ran CCleaner on my wife's work computer and cleared 5 Gigs worth of useless files. The interface is fairly simple to use, it's free, and who doesn't want to clean their crap for free! If you still feel that you do not need this great software, even AFTER I am suggesting it, click HERE.

If you are smart you will click HERE to download CCleaner and use it on your computer.

Hi, my name is James, and CCleaner cleaned 362.8 MB of my crap. CALL LARRY H. PARKER now!

VIDEO PLAYBACK - For Bears And Potheads
What do you guys use for video playback on your computer? Everybody has their favorite. But I do know that Windows Media and Quicktime piss me off. So today I want to introduce two media players that have cool names, plays almost everything without downloading additional codec, and best of all....... are FREE!!!!!

GOM Player - GOM means Bear in Korean. And don't worry! This is not a North Korean product paying homage to the old Soviet Union. This player comes from Gretech corp. of South Korea. Gom Player is probably the most underrated player out there. I've never had any problems with it and deleted VLC media player because, hey, who needs extra crap on their computer? (Go download CCleaner!!!!!!)

Anyways, even though it's from Korea, they have an English site and English version. You will also be happy to know that the English version does not lack behind the Korean version either. So their is no reason not to try this guy out. If it makes you feel any better, their homepage is called Gomlab.com. (traslated BEAR LAB).
Click HERE to download Gom Player

POT Player - This one is relatively new and is growing on me. I have no idea why it's called "Pot player" but the full name is "Daum TV Pot Player". This player is also created by South Koreans and their is no English version yet.  If you can read korean, you will have no problems with the smooth interface. In fact, Pot Player has more setting options that GOM Player. Also, if you look at the full name, you will notice the word "TV". If you live in Korea, you can sign up with Daum and watch Korean Soap Operas and Variety shows till you crap your pants. (And no, you cannot use CCleaner to clean THAT kind of crap)

If you read and understand Korean, Try out Pot Player. You can download it by clicking HERE.

Comments are always welcome!

The Venture Bros

So... Part 2 of season 4 has recently started again. Who else is excited?

[Crickets?]

I recently mentioned Venture Bros. to a couple of friends and was shocked to learn that they had no idea what I was talking about! So here it is..... the Venture Bros.

Venture WHAT? When people think of adult cartoons, they mostly think of The Simpsons, Family guy, Futurama (future blog topic?), Beevis & Buthead, and South Park to name a few. But Venture Bros is relatively new to the scene, gracing our television sets in 2004. If you grew up in the 80's or 90's you know all about Saturday morning cartoons. Well this show pays tribute to some of the greatest. Scooby-doo, Johnny Quest, and references everything from Tekken, Star Wars and even had a lively discussion about whether Smurfs are Mammals or Insects. Venture Bros. will bring Nostalgia to all those who loved Cartoons growing up.

Venture WHO? The Venture Bros. follows the adventures of the Venture family. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture is the patriarch who has issues with his past when he was a boy adventurer and child star. He has two sons, Dean & Hank, whom we find out are actually in their 16th incarnation as clones. Filling out the family is the bodyguard, Brock Sampson. I can't describe this guy, you have to see him to believe it. The only thing I will say about him is that he can even kill with his anus. The Venture Bros is filled with familiar yet new characters. This show has so many characters, but takes the time to explain all of them throughout the show. All of these characters fall into a cliche, but they are still unique.  But my favorites are #21 & #24 who are henchmen for the villian The Monarch.. These guys almost steal the show.

Henchmen 24 & 21

Venture BROS This show is more than a cartoon. The underlying themes in this show are very interesting to see unfold. The creators of the show mention that Failure is one of the biggest themes of the show, but I felt that a bigger theme is messed-up family relationships. The relationships between father and son, brother and brother, mother and son. Butterfly and child. Now, I can go on and on about this show but you guys just need to go out and watch it.

If this post isn't enough to make you watch this show (Link to streaming Venture Bros) Watch this video:

Mario

September 13th marked the 25th anniversary release of Super Mario Bros.

Already covered at many blogs and sites:
Gizmodo
Gamespy

Nintendo is also releasing a 25th Anniversary Collection for the Nintendo Wii!!

Mario. I actually wasn't into Super Mario bros when it first came out on the NES, although I do recall seeing it at Chucky-cheeses. I was too young (not enlightened) to appreciate the glorious Goomba pounding goodness and instead spent my time playing the cheesy carnival games and collecting tickets to redeem for prizes.  I also remember playing Super Mario Bros 2 at a friends house. Interestingly enough, I was astute enough to notice that Mario 2 seemed to be a completely different game. (It turns out that is IS a different game)

Then came..... Super Mario Bros 3. This game single-handedly opened my eyes to the world of video games. I loved everything about this game. The giant level, riding in a shoe, even the silly movie The Wizard, which showed us that it can be COOL to be into video games. Wouldn't it be awesome if i drove around in my car wearing the Power Glove? And of course, the whistles!!

So many Mario games that bring back fond memories. Super Mario World.... my all time favorite. I can get to Star 96 in under 3 hours. Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Kart, Mario Party etc..

To all of the gamers out there, veteran novice alike. Even those of you who think Halo 3 is the all time greatest game (You guys don't know S***)

Go out and play Mario 1, 2 or 3. Enjoy it. Love it. Play at least 25 minutes.

Mario.... Thank you for those 25. Here's to 25 more.
